King´s Coaching: Counselling with a Royal HistoryIt was the privilege of Kings, the rulers of Church and State, to realise the age old dream of humanity, to remain ever healthy, young and beautiful. At around 350 BC, Alexander the Great searched for the fountain of youth in the course of his battles. He discovered that only knowledge and heroism would make him immortal. Nearly 1000 years later, the King of Spain dispatched adventurers in sailboats on the same search, in the course of which, America and India were only discovered by accident! In the French court of 1750, King Louis XV and Madame Pompadour gave alchemists the job of creating the elixir of youth. Goethe is supposed to have not eaten in the evenings three times a week in order to maintain the virility which he still experienced when he was over 80. He lived to 93 at a time when the average life expectancy was only 40. During the nineteenth century politicians and doctors, for example Sigmund Freud, his friend Breuer and Konrad Lorenz, tried out all manner of substances to stay potent and mentally healthy in old age (see references in Books: Johannes V. Buttlar,1994; and Professor Markus Metka, Vienna, Opening Dissertation from the 5th Conference for Anti-Aging Medicine of the GSAAM in Munich 2005: "4000 Years of Anti-Aging Medicine" under www.gsaam.de). |
